Strategy cpmparison of Video Poker machines

You, a VP player, may not familiar with all kinds of VP machine. Yet, occasionally you may hit upon a profitable machine for which you don't know the optimum strategy. In some cases, the optimum strategy of other machines might be a good approximation. But, of course you have to pay some extra cost since the strategy is no longer optimal. The following tables show "what is the extra cost". It may help you to decide whether you play it anyway or not.

NOTE:
1. In the following tables, the sigificant figure is about 5.
2. I believe the abbriviations are quite clear. But to avoid misunderstanding, the following pay out table is provided.

Royal Fllush Straight Flush 4 Aces 4 2-4's 4 5-K's Full House Flush Straiht 3 of a kind Two pair High pair
JB 9/6 800 50 25 25 25 9 6 4 3 2 1
JB 9/7 800 50 25 25 25 9 7 4 3 2 1
JB 10/6 800 50 25 25 25 10 6 4 3 2 1
JB 8/5 800 50 25 25 25 8 5 4 3 2 1
DB 10/7 800 50 160 80 50 10 7 5 3 1 1
All American 800 200 40 40 40 8 8 8 3 1 1
Bonus Poker 800 50 80 40 25 8 5 4 3 2 1

3. Since non-US residents like me (Japanese) have to take into account the withhold of fuckin' 30% tax when they hit a royal in higher denomination machines, the colums of JB9/6 TAX and DB10/7 TAX are included. (Besides, that isthe original motivation why I caluculated these tables.) The effective payout is 560 (800*0.7) in these cases. (I believe even a US resident has to take in account the effect of TAX if he is serious and demand perfection. I don't know your annual income, hence your tax rate, but you do know it !.)

(Refund of the over-paid withold is possible by filing 1040NR, but it is difficult to do so for foreingenrs since it requires lots of paperwork.)

4. Comparisons of machines with wildcard(s) are future work. If I hit another royal, then it's due time to do it :-).

HOW to read the Tables
For example, the colum with the yellow shadow means that the pay out of DB10/7 is 99.82542% if you use the strategy of JB 9/7.

Additional information
These charts are translation of a part of my website, which is written in Jpananese. If you can read Japanese AND if your computer supports Japanese fonts, check it. There are many topics on casino games such as the reviews of over 50 books on Blackjack and other casino games, mathematical thoughts on some casino games and of course a link to Skip's page.

Also, send any comments and suggesitons to me.

Final Caution:
Video poker is completely illegal here in Japan. Although there exist many VP kiosks (called paw-car-yah) all around, you are subject to under arrest. Furthermore, they are completely non-ramdam! (worse than VP machines in Indian reserve?)
