1951   Born Ohio, USA.

1971   Studied ceramics at Skidmore College (Saratoga Springs, New York).

1972   Studied ceramics in Japan. Graduated AB cum laude, Colgate University (Hamilton, New York).

1974   Studied under Seimei Tsuji (Tama,Tokyo).

1977   Established studio in Shigaraki.

1983   Built 660 cubic foot anagama kiln and studio residence in Yamagami (Shiga Prefecture).

Yearly one-man shows since 1980 at Tokyo Green Gallery, Takashimaya, and Seibu art galleries. Other shows throughout Japan and the USA.

Numerous juried entries in the Chunichi International Exhibition of Ceramic Arts, Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition, Fletcher Challenge Ceramics Award (N.Z.) and others.
