- DAY.048-

- May 18 - Decsending to Lone Pine along long, long switchbuack .
Clear sky above the High Sierra. Looking down the Owens Valley from the Sierra Crest.

Left PCT at the Trail Pass for the Horseshoe Meadow, where snow melt is just over. Could not hitchhike, because no car was found. The town of Lone Pine is in the green wood in the Owens Valley.

I hitchhiked, after walking on the asphalt about 20 miles. Sherri, who works a saloon in Lone Pine, picked me up, and took me to the Daw Villa Motel, where I have been last season.
