- May 22 - Left town for the PCT after an interval of 4 days.

Blue sky above the Sierra Nevada.

A couple, who came from Germany, took me for 3 miles.	Dan & Amy, who live in Ridgecrest near here, and had a plan to day-hike, took me to the Horseshoe Meadows.

Return to PCT, and hiked to Cottonwood Pass at the elevation of about 3,300 meters.	Camped beside the Chicken Spring Lake. Most of the surface of that was filled with ice.

Nice campsite. In the enening, Felt too cool !!
