Pedal steel guitar | |
Takashi Ryou | 1941.07.25 |
He calls himself “one of the best pedal steel guitar players in Japan” and jokes that people who have never heard of him should be “ashamed of themselves”. By being so accomplished at playing the guitar, he is the driving force behind the band`s creative side.
The lead vocal and E guitar
Shunichi Yamada | 1950.12.08 |
Perhaps uniquely among Japanese people, he possesses a great singing voice that combines excellent English pronunciation with charm and strength in his voice. Yamada plays his guitar from the heart and has developed his own unorthodox style of play through twenty years of hard practice and natural ability.
Vocal and A guitar and harp
Susumu Gengo | 1947.04.03 |
No one can quite imitate Gengo`s wide ranging vocals, which have a distinct high tone to them. He is especially proficient at giving the band`s music a distinctive West Coast of America flavour. In recent years he has become bald and now always performs with a fake head of hair, called a Katsura in Japanese. However Gengo actually denies all of this by saying that underneath the Katsura is a full head of hair!
Vocal and drum | |
Masahiro Manabe | 1946.11.19 |
Once the bass player in the band he has now switched to playing the drums, displaying his vast and varied musical talents. Some say that he is a genius (including his mother) and was rumoured to have graduated from one of the schools in Japan. However, once he became interested in music at university, his grades went down and never recovered!
E base | |
You Mishima | 1953.12.17 |
A new addition to the band, having taken over from Puchie. Do not underestimate his contribution to the band as a whole because he forms an important part of the rhythm section of the group, the essential base of every song. His hobbies include eating expensive foods from around the world.
